Aspirations event

On Thursday 27th March, The Big Trust was proud to host a Careers Aspirations event in partnership with The LFC Foundation and Liverpool City Council. We invited both students and staff from across 10 different High Schools within the Liverpool City region to a day designed to spark inspiration, build confidence and open up a world of possibilities for their future careers.

The event was hosted at Hot Shots in Cains Brewery village (Hot Shots, Liverpool’s brand new AR Darts venue), a fantastic and unique venue which has multiple classic games readily available. These games include interactive darts lanes, shuffleboard and plenty of board games.

The event gave the students the opportunity to hear directly from local employers, industry experts and inspiring role models from a variety of sectors. The aim of the day was simple, but powerful: to encourage young people to start thinking about their futures - not with pressure, but with possibility.

Throughout the event, students took part in interactive workshops and informal networking sessions, where they could ask questions, gain real insight into different industries and hear personal stories of career journeys - including the twists, turns and challenges along the way!

From healthcare to hospitality, construction to creative industries, the event was a chance to shine a light on the huge range of opportunities available right here in Liverpool and beyond.

Breaking down barriers

For many students, events like this can be their first real exposure to the world of work outside the classroom. By connecting young people directly with employers and professionals, The Big Trust hopes to break down barriers, challenging misconceptions and build confidence - especially for those who may feel unsure or overwhelmed about their next steps.

The key them of the day was that there is no single path to success - and that careers can be built in many different ways, at many different speeds.

The power of Local partnerships

This event was made possible thanks to the ongoing collaboration between The Big Trust, Liverpool City Council, Local schools and a fantastic range of businesses and professionals who gave up their time to support the next generation.
