The Big Trust is delighted to announce new funding support from Frank Rogers building contractors to help us plan, co-ordinate, and deliver a women in construction programme across Liverpool.
This exciting initiative will be delivered in local high schools and aims to open doors for young girls who may never have considered a future in the construction industry. By showcasing the wide range of career opportunities and challenging outdated stereotypes, we want to inspire the next generation of women to see construction as a dynamic, rewarding, and inclusive career path.
Why this matters?
Construction remains one of the UK's most male-dominated industries, but the sector is crying out for fresh talent and diverse perspectives. Through this programme, young women will have the chance to meet role models already working in the industry, hear their stories, and learn practical skills that can ignite an interest in pursuing further training, apprenticeships and jobs in construction.
"We know that talent is everywhere, but opportunity is not. This programme is about showing young women that construction is for them too, and that there are brilliant careers waiting for them in this sector" - Hannah Norman Williams, The Big Trust.
The power of local funding
This programme is only possible thanks to the generosity of Frank Rogers, a business rooted in Liverpool that shares our passion for investing in the local community. Funding small, local charities like The Big Trust makes a huge difference - it allows us to be responsive, flexible, and creative in meeting the needs of the people and places we serve.
Our tailored approach
Alongside our standard programmes, The Big Trust specialises in designing bespoke initiatives tailored to schools, colleges, businesses, and community networks. Whether it's helping people into employment, delivering mentoring opportunities, or creating unique programmes like "women in construction", we work with partners to shape activity that has a real, lasting impact.
Looking ahead
We're proud to be working alongside Frank Rogers on this programme and are excited to see the difference it will make for young women across Liverpool. Together, we can break down barriers, challenges stereotypes, and inspire future generations to take up their place in industries where they can thrive.
