Last week our CEO Hannah and Operations Manager Billie attended a "reverse pitch" event hosted by former Liverpool Mayor Joanne Anderson with the BlaST network (BlaST - Kindred). The event was held at the brilliant Spine venue in Liverpool City Centre, with some fantastic views of the city.

The event flipped the traditional pitching idea on its head. Organised by Joanne Anderson and hosted by the brilliant Izzy Obeng (Izzy Obeng | Home), this innovative event invited businesses and individuals to pitch their resources, investment opportunities and support packages to small businesses and charities - the opposite of how this is usually completed.

Held in the heart of Liverpool, the event brought together a powerful mix of social enterprises, local businesses and purpose driven organisations united by one shared goal: creating positive, lasting change in our communities.

From The Big Trust perspective, rather than competing for funding in the traditional sense, the reverse pitch event created a space where businesses stepped forward to offer their skills, services, funding and platforms to those driving social impact. The Big Trust, with its deep commitment to transforming lives through employment, training and partnership, found this approach both refreshing and empowering. The range of support on offer was impressive and inspiring and we certainly learned a lot by attending and we're excited to explore new partnerships that could expand our impact and reach more people across the Liverpool City Region.

We would like to thank Joanne Anderson for her leadership and vision in bringing this event to life. By challenging "the normal" and reimagining how support is shared, the Reverse pitch model is helping to level the playing field, and opening doors to new possibilities for community transformation.

The Big Trust look forward to seeing how these conversations evolve and to continuing our work alongside partners to make Liverpool a city where opportunity and support are accessible to all.

Billie x
